OUDTSHOORN NEWS - The two cyclists from Finland who were the victims of theft early Christmas morning could continue with their tour to Cape Town today thanks to the speedy reaction of the police.
Frank and Lindsay were asleep in their tent in the yard of an accommodation establishment in Oudtshoorn when two cycle bags with equipment and clothing were stolen at about 04:00.
Due to ccv footage the police were able to aprehend a suspect and retrieve most of the stolen goods within hours.
Frank and Lindsay spoke to the Oudtshoorn Courant this morning on their way to Calitzdorp.
According to them they had already prepared themselves for the expense of replacing the stolen items when police returned their posessions.
"It was an awful experience, but the police did a wonderful job, and we are able to continue our tour," Lindsay said this morning.
The two live in Finland but originally come from Canada.

The police question the suspect shortly after his arrest on Christmas morning.
