Update

OUDTSHOORN NUUS - Met verwysing na vanoggend se raadsvergadering het die munisipale woordvoerder pas die volgende inligting gestuur:

Oudtshoorn Municipal Council, in its Special meeting on Friday, 25 January 2019, discussed both items contained in the agenda. 

One of the two items was the tabling of the draft Annual Report for the 2017/2018 financial year, which turned out to have incorrect and outdated information. Some councillors did not want the document to be considered by Council as being tabled for noting. 

Following discussions by councillors, The Speaker, Cllr. Julia le Roux-Krowitz, allowed councillors to vote on the matter, with the majority of councillors voting for the noting of the document. 

The Council, however, noted the tabled draft Annual Report for the financial year 2017/2018 in terms of the relevant legislation. The Municipal Manager, Mr. Allen Paulse acknowledged the errors and undertook to make all necessary corrections. 

He also mentioned that the document will be published on the Municipal website and be availed at all libraries in the Greater Oudtshoorn for the public to comment.  
 
Another item which was brought before Council sought to write-off obsolete Municipal owned vehicles. This item was referred to the Technical Services Portfolio Committee for discussion. 

The Speaker, Cllr. le Roux-Krowitz adjourned the meeting after both items were concluded.
