NATIONAL NEWS - The start of registration at Wits University has been disrupted by protesting students, who have occupied Senate House and the fees office this morning.
The university says it has started using satellite offices after demonstrators refused to allow first years to access the student enrolment centre.
Wits Fees Must Fall members Sarah Mokwebo says this protest is part of their ongoing struggle for free education.
“We want them to scrap registration fees across the entire university. This needs to apply to everyone, whether you have NSFAS or not and if you're too poor to actually pay fees for yourself, including students with bursaries.”

Wits spokesperson Shirona Patel says they anticipated the disruption and have activated a back-up plan.
