Helicopter deployed as wildfire erupts in Uniondale Mountains

Garden Route District Municipality Firefighters have been deployed to a mountain fire in Barandas, Uniondale.

The fire is inaccessible for ground crews. Therefore, a helicopter was deployed to bomb out the fire to prevent it escalating into a large spreading mountain fire.

Garden Route District Municipality and CapeNature teams are on scene.
