Initially 204 members enrolled for the programme, which commenced on 14 January. By the time members fulfill their obligations toward the programme today, 182 members will have completed their course successfully.
"Our country takes pride in the high professional standards that have been the hallmark of our Defence Force," said Acting OC Lt.Col FM Maganwe on Wednesday.
"Military personnel play a major role in the United Nations' Peacekeeping Missions in various continents, including Africa. The participation of our military personnel in these missions reflects the confidence that the AU and UN have in the SANDF."
Magawe also said that leadership skills need to be nurtured and developed and that the SANDF are proud of these recruits that have completed their first leadership developmental course successfully.
The achievers of the leadership programme were Rfn D Dysason (Best Theory and Best Overall), Rfn MF Manakana (Best Practical), L/Cpl MV Nkane (Best Shotist), Rfn HM Sepoloane (Neatest and Best Drill), Rfn ZC Cofa (Best Disciplined), Rfn L Borman (Fittest Male), Rfn LS Galane (Fittest Female) and Cpl SG Mmolawa (Best Instructor).
Rfn Dyason received awards as Best Overall member as well as Best Theory from Acting OC, Lt.Col FM Maganwe.
