NATIONAL NEWS - The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) believes video footage will assist in identifying those responsible for a knife attack on a private security guard.
The official was stabbed and assaulted after violent protests erupted at the university's Cape Town campus earlier this week.
A building was also targeted in an arson attack.
Protesters are angry about the suspension of four students, accused of misconduct.
CPUT’s Lauren Kansley says security has been beefed-up.
“This follows a brutal attack on a security guard who was attacked by a group of around 20 protesting students at the Cape Town campus. We believe footage can help us to identify them. The level of violence is concerning.”
