Update
SEDGEFIELD NEWS - The devastating car accident on the N2 just outside of Sedgefield on 26 May has left 11-year-old learner, Emma Snyman, with critical head, neck and facial injuries.
Emma was rushed between three hospitals before being airlifted to Red Cross Children's Hospital in Cape Town.
Neurosurgeons have made a tiny whole in her skull and are currently monitoring the pressure and oxygen levels in her brain.
Emma is currently in a medically induced coma. Once the doctors get past the immediate brain trauma, they can move on to the broken neck vertebrae and then to the facial plastic surgery and the broken jaw.
During this ordeal, Emma's mom, Vanessa, had been by her side.
The family requires major financial input to get through the immediate and future requirements which will include, among others, multiple specialists, therapists and tests.
"We have to try and do everything we can to get Emma back to being Emma," her mom said.
BackaBuddy campaign
The family has launched a BackaBuddy campaign, and all donations will be crucial to ensure Emma's journey back to health is a success.
