It is with this in mind that South Cape FET College actively pursues opportunities for its students to practice "job shadowing". This value-added service is provided to students through the section: Job Placement, under the guidance of the Job Placement Officer, Mr Selwyn Kiewiet.
During the first week of November, the college placed students for job shadowing purposes at the George Magistrates Court, Swift Engineering in Mossel Bay, Mossel Bay Municipality and Beaufort West Municipality. At the Magistrates Court in George four Level 4 Office Administration students participated in this exercise, whilst four students from the Mossel Bay Campus, level 4 Engineering Electrical and Related Design, were accommodated at Swift Engineering. A total of five level 4 Engineering (Electrical Infrastructure Construction) students from the Mossel Bay Campus were placed at Mossel Bay Municipality, whereas Beaufort West Municipality housed two level 4 Engineering (Civil Engineering and Building Construction) students. The institutions were acknowledged through South Cape FET College Certificates of Appreciation.
The college strives to motivate other industry partners to also avail their businesses for job placement or job shadowing opportunities for students.
