OUDTSHOORN NEWS - Fourteen participants competed in the first-ever gaming tournament in Oudtshoorn, marking an exciting milestone for the local gaming community.
The event was part of an ongoing initiative to create positive opportunities for young people through organised recreational activities.
Organisers Mxolisi Manata and Jason Stoffels, both passionate gamers, expressed their satisfaction with the tournament's success and said they hope to attract even more participants in the future.
"The tournament brought together young people from different parts of the community in a positive and exciting gaming environment. We are encouraged by the support and enthusiasm shown by participants, parents, and community members. As the Oudtshoorn Game Lounge continues to grow, we are now planning to introduce interschool tournaments aimed at engaging learners, developing talent, promoting healthy competition and creating more opportunities for young people through e-sports and gaming," said Manata.
The organisers also announced a partnership with True South eSports Kulture.
As part of the programme, True South eSports Kulture hosted a Call of Duty: Mobile tournament, providing an opportunity for local gamers to compete, develop their skills and connect with others who share their passion for gaming.
