This is what happened to an employee at the Ear Institute in Cape Town this week after a driver fooling around careered into a street light in front of the building the previous evening.
The incident was recorded by a camera mounted on another vehicle’s dashboard and has since gone viral.
The clip shows the culprits; the driver of a Suzuki Swift and a Honda, driving side-by-side with passengers trying to touch each other’s hands while the vehicles are moving.
A few seconds later the Suzuki driver swerves in front of the Honda before seemingly losing control, narrowly missing the front of an oncoming car and plunging into a street light in Claremont.
