NATIONAL NEWS - The Rondebosch Common Ground Church says that its devastated following the arrest of a youth pastor on sex related charges.
The 26-year-old man was arrested last week for, among other offences, the possession of child pornography.
The suspect was reported to police last month by the parents of a 14-year-old victim.
Senior pastor at the church Ryan Termorshuizen says they’re shocked.
“These are the kinds of things that nightmares are made of for a church. As you can imagine, we are absolutely devastated as a congregation. A number of families who’ve had this young man in their home say it felt like a divorce when someone cheats and you just didn’t see it coming."
