OUDTSHOORN NEWS - Christmas came early at Cango Wildlife Ranch and Conservation Centre, says Tammy Moult, senior tourism manager at Cango Wildlife Ranch in Oudtshoorn.
Moult shares that a very pregnant Sansa, opted to leave her comfy and secure night quarters and set-up nest in a dense, but low canopy of Spekboom, where she gave birth.
"Everyone was thankful when the weather remained warm and constant."
Moult explains that they have many reasons to celebrate the birth of these five cubs.
"Not only do the cubs contribute to helping the world better understand their species, but their strong and genetically diverse bloodlines make a valuable contribution to the ex-situ population management of the species. This facility's forms part of our Cheetah Preservation Foundation non-profit organization."
"The cubs stayed with their mom for the first two weeks where they consumed enough colostrum to ensure healthy cubs with strong antibodies," says Moult.
"We then moved them to our hand-raising centre where our experienced teamwork around the clock to ensure optimal care for the young ones."
