NATIONAL NEWS - Registration at South Cape TVET College is currently taking place. Registration for bursaries has been extended to 15 February. Refilwe Molusi, a communications officer at South Cape College, stresses that students must find out from their nearest campus how the registration process works, as specific documentation is needed for bursary applications.
“Students must bring a certified copy of their ID, latest pass results and a proof of residence bearing their name when going to the campus. Space is limited and therefore interested students must register as soon as possible.”
Students can also apply for the DHET and TVET College Bursary Fund. Students may apply for tuition, accommodation or transport. “This bursary fund is there to assist students who have a financial need with regards to their studies,” says Molusi.
She said in many households with matriculants the biggest question is where the child will study and whether the parents will be able to afford these studies. “It is not only finance which presents an obstacle, but also the fact that many students did not apply in time during 2018 and now they will not be able to register in 2019.”
South Cape TVET College offers an affordable alternative for many students in the different areas who are still at home and not enrolled at any other institutions. “South Cape TVET College offers N4 to N6 courses which lead to a National Diploma after concluding your 18 months practical experience. N1 to N3 technical courses are also available.”
