This follows a court decision which set aside the power utility’s latest tariff hike.
The North Gauteng High Court has found Nersa’s decision to approve the application for a 9,4 percent tariff increase was unlawful and the correct procedures weren't followed.
The regulator will be holding a special meeting this week to discuss the matter.
As it stands, consumers will still pay the increase, which came into effect in April.
The utility's Khulu Phasiwe says: "We will take our cue from the regulator. Once they’ve reached a determination, we will hear what they have to say and take it from there. It’s too early to say what out reaction will be to this matter."
