Matfield was talking at the captain’s team conference before Friday’s game against Los Pumas, which will not only determine who ends up third at this year’s Rugby World Cup but also who will take the No 3 spot in the World Rugby rankings.
Matfield has obviously been stung by some of the criticism in the 20-18 loss to the All Blacks in the semifinals and reiterated while the team wanted to play some attacking rugby, their first port of call was to win Friday's game -- one which has shaped up to have massive consequences for the team management.
“We play a game of decision-making. It is all about playing the moment, what happens in the moment to make the right decisions,” Matfield explained.
