GEORGE NEWS - Conville detectives in George are investigating a case of murder after a young boy (12) was allegedly stabbed to death by an 11-year old peer.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson, sgt Chris Spies, the incident occurred on Wednesday 24 June at approximately 18:20 in Bruce Street, Borcherds.
“Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim and the suspect had an altercation. The victim sustained a stab wound to the neck and was later declared dead by paramedics on scene. A post-mortem to determine the cause of death will be conducted later,” he said.
The 11-year-old boy was taken into custody in connection with the matter after he was brought to the police station by one of his parents.
“He was later released into the care of his parents and will appear in court as soon as he is formally charged.”
