OUDTSHOORN NEWS - Western Cape schools and education districts have once again excelled at the National Education Excellence Awards.
The awards took place on Friday 29 August at the Sandton Convention Centre, and recognise outstanding achievement in terms of quality teaching and learning indicators.
Eden and Central Karoo
Bridgton Secondary School (Eden and Central Karoo) in Oudtshoorn won first place in the Upkeep and Maintenance of School Facilities: Secondary Schools category.
The Eden and Central Karoo District was the runner-up in both the Highest NSC Participation versus Achievement in Mathematics (2022 – 2024) category and the Highest NSC Participation versus Achievement in Physical Science (2022 – 2024) category.
Western Cape Education Minister David Maynier congratulated the Western Cape's top-performing district directors Noel Petersen (Cape Winelands), Brenda Robertson (Metro Central), Jewel Jonkers (Eden and Central Karoo) and Wendy Horn (Metro North).
