WESTERN CAPE NEWS - It has been brought to the attention of the Western Cape Department of Transport and Public Works (DTPW) that motor vehicle licence renewal notices for 31 March were not dispatched.
The matter was investigated and the cause addressed.
“The implication, however, is that vehicle owners whose motor vehicle licences expired on 31 March did not receive notification of the expiry,” said Head of Communication for DTPW, Jandré Bakker.
“These individuals are encouraged to pay their licence renewal fees by no later than 23 April to avoid any penalties.”
According to Bakker, DTPW have been assured that the notices for licences expiring at the end of April have been dispatched.
“DTPW encourages all vehicle owners to regularly check when their motor vehicle licences expire to avoid late renewal and any related penalties.”
