OUDTSHOORN NEWS - The Oudtshoorn Military Base soccer team, Infantry School, showed no mercy in gaining promotion to the elite Western Cape ABC Motsepe Provincial League on Saturday 31 August.
In the Safa Eden Regional League mini-playoffs final at the military base sports facility in Oudtshoorn, they beat Peace Makers FC 3-0. The first half featured balanced play between the two sides.
Infantry School scored one goal, capitalising on poor defence from Peace Makers during a corner kick. After Infantry School's second goal, which came in the second half from a powerful strike on the left side of the field, Peace Makers upped their game.
They put more pressure on the Infantry School defenders, but couldn't prevent them from scoring their third goal.
The home side was enjoying the game remaining on the attack, and Peace Makers had to defend with all their might to prevent a fourth goal against them.
Infantry School will be joining teams such as Oriented Birds (Plett), Cape Town Spurs, Ubuntu Football and FN Rangers in the provincial league.
