OUDTSHOORN NEWS - Preparations are underway for a high-profile cricket event that will be hosted on Sunday 2 February at the Oudtshoorn Sports Ground. The event will be broadcasted live on SuperSport.
SWD Cricket will host the Momentum One Day Cup match between the WSB Cape Cobras and the Warriors on that day. The Chief Executive Officer of SWD Cricket, Albertus Kennedy said that SWD is looking forward to the opportunity to showcase a match on television between two heavyweight provincial teams.
"With an overseas tour, like the current England tour in South Africa, we are very fortunate and privileged to be allocated with a televised match as Cricket South Africa do not broadcast domestic franchises matches on the same day as international fixtures.
"Besides presenting a professional event we aim to attract a capacity crowd on that day." On that day there are no international tour matches.
A second Momentum One Day Cup match will also be hosted in Oudtshoorn on 7 March when the Cape Cobras clashed with the Knights.
Tickets will go on sale on Monday 27 January. Details will be communicated in the press and on social media.
