Man arrested for possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition in KwaZulu-Natal
NATIONAL NEWS - A 32-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for being in possession of an illegal firearm and 14 rounds of ammunition in Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

Spokesman Major Thulani Zwane said the PSS K9 unit and Umlazi Crime Intelligence members found the man at a house in the T-section.

“He was searched and found in possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition,” said Zwane.

When questioned about the recovered firearm, the man said he got it from the Glebeland hostel, Zwane said.

The man was expected to appear in the Umlazi Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
