Symantec’s Norton reported last year that 8.8 million South Africans were the victims of cybercrime, at a cost to our economy of over R35 billion. This, together with the findings of PwC's 2016 Global Economic Crime Survey and cybercrime being the fourth most reported economic crime in South Africa, as well as the fact that our country is the top target for cybercrimes on the continent, explains the growing need and demand for information and expertise on securing businesses and homes in the Age of Information.
As such, an informal meet up around the pizza table at the local Primi Piatti in Caledon Square will take place on May 20 where Jayson will be sharing his trade-mark #awkwardhugs and discussing cyber security, attacks, trends and more. Members of the community in George and surrounding areas are invited to attend and can register for a seat here.
Entrance is free (although a donation to show that you care about your security and that of others is welcomed), pizza will be provided but drinks are for your own account. Seats, however, are limited and will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis.
