Stringent approach to curb drunk driving
From Monday, the Western Cape Transport Department will be reintroducing a stringent approach to addressing drunk driving.
NATIONAL NEWS - From Monday, the Western Cape Transport Department will be reintroducing a stringent approach to addressing drunk driving.

Evidentiary breath alcohol testing (Ebat) will now be used by traffic officials.

The department's Byron la Hoe explains how Ebat differs from testing for liquor in blood.

“The results are immediate. Motorists, whose alcohol level is below the legal limit, can be released immediately after receiving their results.”
