AGRICULTURAL NEWS - The Aldam Stockmanschool takes place from 18-20 October 2017 near Winburg in the Free State. The conference will focus on participation in the red meat value chain through improved precision management practices.
Speakers include Nick Serfontein from Sernick, who began a Bonsmara stud in 1983 and now runs a full value chain with a feedlot, commercial herd, stud, abattoir and butcheries.
Namibia beef producer Mecki Schneider, who runs one of the largest Brahman commercial herds in Africa, Johan Mouton, who does product development for Molatek and Epol, and Prof Kevin Kirkman, a grassland scientist, will also be speaking.
