The annual Klein Karoo Prestige Agri Awards were held on Friday, 14 August, with a special function at the Cango Wildlife Ranch in Oudtshoorn. The awards recognise the hard work, dedication and achievements of agricultural workers and farms across the Klein Karoo.Juan Jonck of De Rusticana was named the overall Klein Karoo Agri Worker of the Year. Kumquat Farm (Saag Jonker jnr) received the award for Best Participating Farm, while Rashaan Everts of Witmoek Farm was recognised in the Farmworker with the Best Potential category. Bettie Wagenaar from De Krans received the special Long Service Recognition award for 46 years of service.The awards provide an opportunity to acknowledge the important contribution made by agricultural workers and farms to the region’s agricultural sector.
