While both teams are yet to be named, there isn’t too much doubt now over most of the combinations that the Boks will put onto the field. Injuries have been kept to a minimum just recently, and with all the players getting stuck into the training sessions, the expectation should be that the possible return of the now recovered JP Pietersen on the wing for Lwazi Mvovo should be the only change to the first choice side that has played over the past few weeks.
Whereas the Bok combinations are an open secret, however, the Welsh have had some thinking to do, and in one key area they have an option that the Boks don’t have. That is at loose-forward, where the Welsh have the choice of going in with a two fetcher combination like they did against Australia last week, or revert to the specialist openside scavenger and blindside ball carrier configuration that they relied on before they played against Australia last week.
