GYMNASTICS NEWS - Eleven-year-old Emma-Mae Lewis-Houghting has been selected to be part of the national squad that will represent South Africa at the Trampoline and Tumbling World Championship in Sofia, Bulgaria, in November this year.
She qualified for double mini trampoline.
Emma started gymnastics five years ago at SKAT Gymnastics club and has been competing since she was seven years old, in 2018.
"Hard work and dedication is what has brought her this far and she will often train on Saturdays and Sundays leading up to an event," said her mom, Justine Lewis-Houghting.
"Emma says that she is not sure if she is more excited or nervous for the World Championship, but she is determined to try her best and make the most of it."
The predicted cost for attending the World Championship is R45 000 per gymnast. Anyone who wishes to support Emma-Mae with any type of donation, can contact SKAT on 044 870 0662 or send an e-mail to skatgymnastics@gmail.com.
