GEORGE NEWS - Due to severe cold and heavy rain predicted for Friday and Saturday, 7 and 8 September, the much anticipated Oakhurst Insurance Eden Xperience hosted by Glenwood House School, will now be taking place on Thursday and Friday, 13 and 14 September. The annual fundraiser is set to attract over 7 000 people with its wide range of fun-filled events to keep the entire family involved.
The flagship event, The George Herald “Run with the Stars” 10km night run through Loerie Park and Eden neighbourhoods, will take place at 18:00 on Thursday 13 September while the other runs and family fun events have been moved to 14 September.
Only the inaugural Xtreme Water Polo tournament will still be in full swing from this Friday morning through to Saturday afternoon, 7 and 8 September, at the Glenwood House School’s Aquatic Centre. The water polo tournament sets to showcase an action packed weekend of sportsmanship.
Friday 14 September
The Space Race themed 3km fun run/walk offers starts at 17:30 with loads of prizes to those dressed to the theme. Pre entries are open at www.edenxperience.co.za.
The 9km Sportsman’s Warehouse Trail Run winds through picturesque private forests and farmlands. Please pre-enter at www.edenxperience.co.za. This includes automatic entry into the Pentravel Holiday Competition. This lucky draw gives you the chance to win a 7 Night Phuket Holiday for two adults and one child. It includes flights from Johannesburg, 4-star accommodation, airport taxes, return transfers and daily breakfasts, all proudly sponsored by Pentravel. You can also enter at the Pentravel stall on Friday.
Friday night will showcase some of the best local entertainment to help ease you into your evening. There will be great food stalls keeping you full and energised for all your planned events.
A Kids Fun Park promises fun and laughter throughout the festival and a Toddler Dash on Friday night 14 September will ensure that even the little attendees get their share of the competitive fun.
