OUDTSHOORN NEWS - Twenty-three judoka from Eden took part in the Cape Town open tournament on 4 May at the Belhar Indoor Sport Centre.
Eighteen of them are from Franken Primary School in Herold. They were accompanied by coach Lilian Steyn and managers Francois Plaatjies and Jacqueline Boesak.
This was the last tournament away from home in preparation for the South African Open which takes place during the July school holiday.
Although the competition was tough the Eden team returned with 12 gold seven silver- and two bronze medals.
