OUDTSHOORN NEWS - Golf enthusiasts and supporters of the M.O.T.H. Halfaya Pass Shellhole are invited to enjoy a day of friendly competition and camaraderie when the annual M.O.T.H. Halfaya Pass Golf Day takes place at the Oudtshoorn Golf Club on Saturday 8 August.
Whether competing in the main tournament or trying golf for the first time, the day promises an enjoyable day on the fairways in support of the local M.O.T.H. organisation.
The main competition will be played in an American scramble format, with a shotgun start at 12:00, ahead of tee-off at 12:30. Entry is R350 per golfer and includes halfway refreshments and a meal.
Players can also look forward to a variety of prizes, lucky draws and an auction, while a prize-giving ceremony will conclude the day's proceedings.
Entries close on Monday 3 August and the draw takes place on Friday 7 August. Additional meals for guests are available at R100 per person. The club operates on a cashless basis.
Non-golfers and learners welcome
Those who are new to the sport or simply want to enjoy a relaxed morning on the course can also take part in a non-golfers/learners competition on the same day.
The event will be played over nine holes at a cost of R150 per player, with registration from 07:00 for a 07:30 start.
The competition will be played in an individual Stableford format, and prizes are up for grabs.
Participants can also enjoy a complimentary boerewors roll after the round.
Organisers say the event is aimed at introducing newcomers to golf in a fun and welcoming environment while giving social players an opportunity to experience the game.
