OUDTSHOORN GOLF NEWS - Golf is back on our screens and golfing fans can look forward to some great golf tournaments in the next few months. The biggest golf tournament is of course the Masters which will be played at the Augusta National Golf Club from 12 to 15 November next month in 2020.
This year’s Masters will be slightly different from the previous years as there will be no spectators at this year’s event.
This year’s invitational event sees 91 players taking part in the tournament with seven players hailing from South Africa.
These players include, Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Dylan Frittelli, Justin Harding, Trevor Immelman, Louis Oosthuizen, and Charl Schwartzel. Louis Oosthuizen is the only player from Ranking South Africa's best golfers by Betway Insider that will be taking part in this year’s Masters.
Oosthuizen came very close to winning the Green Jacket in 2012 when he finished in second place. Charl Schwartzel is another player to watch in this year’s Masters Invitational, the South African won the Green Jacket in 2011 by sinking a birdie on the last hole to win the tournament.
The ZOZO championship which forms part of the PGA TOUR will be played in Thousand Oaks California at the Sherwood Country Club.
The first round will start on 22 October and will the final tee off will take place on Sunday the 25 October.
Defending champion Tiger Woods will hope to take the title home again and will also be preparing for the Masters that is taking place next month.
78 golfers will take part in this year’s ZOZO which usually takes place in Japan but has now been moved to the US and this will be the first time that Sherwood Country Club will be hosting the event. You can make your predictions on outcomes of this year’s ZOZO Championship at Betway.co.za.
There are multiple different bets that can be made on this event ranging from, what the winning margin will be, will there be a Hole in One or a Playoff to who will be the First Round Leader and who will win the ZOZO Championship.
Fans of the South African Sunshine Tour will be happy to see the return of the Joburg Open which will be hosted by the Randpark Golf Club and will be played between 19 and 22 November.
The Alfred Dunhill Championship will be played at Leopard Creek the following week between 26 to 29 November.
The prize money for the year’s Championship is a crazy R29 Million.
