The match was reduced to 42-overs a side.
South Africa made three changes with Hashim Amla, Quinton de Kock and Titans bowler Marchant de Lange coming in to the side.
Amla had been rested for the fourth ODI in Port Elizabeth, while the wicketkeeper opener De Kock made his return to the Proteas setup after recovering from an ankle injury ahead of schedule.
Amla would captain the side as regular captain AB de Villiers was rested for the final match, while wicketkeeper Morne van Wyk dropped out of the match XI. Bowler Morne Morkel was also rested for the clash.
Narsingh Deonarine came in for Leon Johnson for the West Indies.
