GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - The Six Gun Grill SWD team's campaign for the Cricket South Africa limited overs competition came to an end on Sunday when the clash against the Eastern Cape Iinyathi was abandoned without a ball being bowled following continuous rain.
In Kimberley, where rain also affected the match between the Northern Cape Heat and the Limpopo Impala, the home side recorded a much-needed 17-run victory.
The match was reduced to 23 overs per team. Northern Cape Heat are now tied with SWD on 14 points.
Northern Cape recorded four victories, while SWD won three times, so Northern Cape will advance to the final that will be contested today, Friday 8 April, against the Tuskers in Pietermaritzburg.
