DYSSELSDORP NEWS - One of SWD's longest serving umpires, Neville du Plessis (59), passed away on Friday 10 January 2020 after a battle against cancer.
Du Plessis, from Dysselsdorp, was a match official in the SWD leagues for more than 20 years and previously also served on the executive committee of the SWD Cricket Umpires Association.
At league matches during the past weekend, a guard of honour was held prior to the start of matches in respect for him.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 on Saturday 18 January at the People's Church of Africa (Volkskerk van Afrika) in Dysselsdorp.
