OUDTSHOORN NEWS - The u.16 girls cricket team from Fezekile Secondary recently played a friendly match against their counterpart from SWD Cricket RPC/Hub at the Bridgton Sports Ground and lost by just one wicket. The girls from Fezekile were selected by Dillan Moos, founder of Dill-Bill's Cricket Academy.
According to Moos, the aim of the match was to make young girls aware of the wonderful game of cricket and how to stay active while having fun at the same time.
"Cricket among girls is increasingly growing worldwide and these young girls might go on to achieve higher honours by getting the opportunity to play provincial cricket or representing South Africa in the future," he said.
Moos expressed his gratitude to Fezekile Secondary, coaches Gerald Mvimbi and Elridge Booysen, as well as the parents who gave their consent for the girls to play the match.
