GEORGE NEWS - The 21-year-old Nelson Mandela University (NMU) student Fandiswa Mthonti was granted bail in the amount of R1 000 with strict bail conditions, in the George Magistrate's Court today, Wednesday 4 December.
She has been placed in the care of her mother and uncle.
Mthonti, represented by Jerome Bans from Bulelani Bans Attorneys Inc, is charged with the murder of a fellow student, Lilitha Booi (23), in Le Vallia on Sunday 17 November.
The incident occurred at their student residence in Mountainview Crescent.
When police arrived at the scene around 19:00, they discovered the victim with multiple stab wounds.
