Last week, Zuma removed well-known advocates Dumisa Ntsebeza and Ishmael Semenya and attorney Andiswa Ndoni from the commission after he appointed them as his designated members of the commission in 2009.
When the JSC meets in three weeks’ time it has a full agenda.
It will have to consider Zuma’s nomination of Judge Raymond Zondo to become the new deputy chief justice and his nomination of Judge Mandisa Maya to become the new president of the Supreme Court of Appeal.
Under the Constitution, the president can appoint four of his own designates to the JSC after consulting with other party leaders.
