NATIONAL NEWS - Three people have been shot dead in an alleged mass shooting near the Durban High Court in Bakers Street, Southlands Sun reports.
Rescue Care paramedics responded to the scene to find two men and two women were killed and three others critically injured.
The injured are being treated by paramedics.
Rescue Care paramedic Garrith Jamieson described the scene of the mass shooting in J.N Singh Street, formerly Baker Street in the Durban CBD as a “bloodbath,” Berea Mail reported.
Jamieson said paramedics had responded to a call to a mass shooting just after 11.30am on Monday.
On arrival, they were escorted to the apartment which is located close to the Durban High Court.
“Paramedics were faced with an absolute bloodbath. Nine people had been shot and sustained multiple gunshot wounds,” he said.
Jamieson confirmed that two men and one woman had sustained fatal wounds and were declared deceased.
Earlier reports indicated that four people had been killed, but Jamieson said the remaining six had sustained injuries ranging from moderate to critical.
