MOTORING NEWS - With a show-stopping prototype, a thumping 200kW Citi Golf, a hybrid diesel-electric space-age two-seater and a disco queen photo-Beetle, the Volkswagen AutoPavilion exhibition promises to be a highlight at this year's George Old Car Show.
VW AutoPavilion proudly showcases the evolution of Volkswagen and Audi in South Africa.
Fun for everyone, its experiential displays and driving simulators demonstrate how aspects such as solar power, GPS, fuel-saving technologies and vehicle safety features work. VW AutoPavilion will be bringing a new exhibition to the 24th George Old Car Show taking place on 8 and 9 February at the Eden Technical High School (formerly PW Botha College).
It will include the Polo Vivo Dune - a unique concept vehicle built for the South African outdoor lifestyle that has only been seen at the 2019 Festival of Motoring; the only XL1 (an electric-diesel hybrid) in SA; an old favourite, the disco-photo Beetle Foxy Lady; and retro shop items for sale.
Eighteen cars that will have just finished the 2020 Gapp Vettoer from Cape Town to George will star at the Old Car Show, alongside a special display of bakkies, a Valiant exhibition celebrating 60 years in South Africa, some impressive muscle cars, over 5 000 model cars and a sizeable collection of Vespa motorcycles.
Another regular event, an auction of old cars by Trader Auctions, will also take place. Bring your whole family to the George Old Car Show - it offers something for everyone! Tickets are available at Computicket.
