GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Nama Khoi, Khai-Mai, Hantam (N. Cape) and Beaufort-West (W. Cape) municipalities on Tuesday.
The South African Weather Service has also issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for damaging interior winds, which are expected to cause localised damage—particularly affecting informal settlements.
The warning also highlights a heightened risk of widespread runaway fires.
Affected areas include the eastern parts of the Northern Cape, as well as the central and western regions of both the Free State and North West provinces.
Residents are urged to exercise caution, secure loose objects, and avoid open flames in fire-prone areas.
