GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - According to the latest update from South African Weather Service, the cold front forecast is still valid for today.
The front is expected to make landfall between 09:00 and 10:00 this morning along the south-west and west coast with heavier rainfall, strong winds and increasing wave heights along the coastal regions.
The front is expected to move eastwards to the eastern parts of the province by late afternoon.
Wet, windy, and cold to very cold conditions over western high-lying areas of the Western Cape and southern parts of the Northern Cape and Free State, with a possibility of light snow along the high-lying mountain tops of Western Cape, Eastern Cape up to the Lesotho until Wednesday.

Farmers and small stock farmers are advised to provide proper shelter, dry bedding, and energy-rich feed to protect their animals against these conditions.
Western Cape
Cloudy and cold to cool with widespread showers and rain over the south-western parts, but isolated to scattered over the eastern interior.
The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-westerly, but south-westerly along the south-west coast from the afternoon. It will become near gale force along the south from the evening.

Western half of the Eastern Cape
Partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the east. Light snowfalls can be expected on the high western mountains overnight.
The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-easterly, becoming fresh to strong south-westerly from the west mid-morning.
Eastern half of the Eastern Cape
Cool in the north, otherwise partly cloudy and warm becoming cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers from the west in the afternoon.
The wind along the coast will be light north-westerly, becoming light to moderate north-easterly in the afternoon.
