GEORGE NEWS - A woman from Pretoria who was visiting the Garden Route, Annalie Lessing, has won the brand-new Polo Vivo in the Garden Route Mall car competition.
The draw was done on 3 September at the Mugg & Bean court and the winner was announced live on Algoa FM.
At the same time, the mall and radio station gave out prizes and vouchers to customers to enjoy on the day. Glenton Tobias of Nedbank acted as Commissioner of Oaths, making sure that the process was well run.
Garden Route Mall's partnered sponsor, Tavcor VW George, also played a huge role in making sure that all the processes were in order.
A total of 7 562 entries was received from 15 June until 27 August.
Paul Balmer, Tavcor dealer principal, and Rion Olivier, general manager of the mall, handled the draw by hand-picking the winner. A screening was done to verify all the terms and conditions and the winner was called live on air.
Lessing was on holiday, visiting her cousin in Oudtshoorn, when she entered the competition. While they were shopping they noticed the competition and she entered, spending more than R2 000 and praying that she would win the car to pass it on to her cousin who did not have any form of transport.
Lessing collected the car on 7 September and drove it to Oudtshoorn to hand it over to her cousin.
