GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Blasting operations on a section of the N9 between George and Oudtshoorn will result in temporary road closures later this month.
At the same time, ongoing construction work in Wilderness continues to affect traffic along Seven Passes Road.
Motorists travelling between George, Oudtshoorn and Uniondale are advised that the N9 will be fully closed on 16 and 22 April between 14:00 and 17:00 to allow for controlled blasting.
The work forms part of a 5km road construction project, where rock is being removed and extracted. No traffic will be allowed through the affected section during these times.
In a separate notice, drivers using Seven Passes Road in Wilderness are reminded of an ongoing full closure between Idille Guest Farm and just before Whites Road.
The closure, which began on 23 March, is expected to remain in place for approximately seven months.
Limited access is being granted to residents and emergency services between the NMU campus and Idille Guest Farm, as well as from Whites Road.
Road users are urged to plan their trips accordingly and adhere to temporary traffic signage in both areas while construction work is under way.
