BEAUFORT WEST NEWS - October Haarvoor has been elected as the new Deputy Mayor of Beaufort West following a Special Council meeting held on 3 September.
Haarvoor, representing the Democratic Alliance (DA), was elected as Ward 1 Councillor in 2024 and has since been recognised for his dedicated service to the community.
He now steps into his new leadership role alongside newly elected Mayor Gina Duimpies.
Together, the two leaders face the pressing task of stabilising Beaufort West’s municipal administration and restoring public trust in local government.
Party officials expressed confidence in Haarvoor’s appointment, noting his reputation for integrity and commitment to service delivery.
“We believe he will continue to serve the residents of Beaufort West with excellence,” a DA statement read.
