OUDTSHOON NEWS - Albertus Kennedy, chief executive officer at South Western Districts, recently successful completed a Certificate Programme in Labour Dispute Resolution Practice (CPLDRP) at the law faculty at the University of Stellenbosch (US).
The CPLDRP is a post-graduate (NQF Level 8) programme offered by the US in agreement and collaboration with the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) and the broader labour relations in practice industry.
The programme is endorsed by the CCMA and the industry as sufficient for purposes of training of CCMA commissioners and bargaining council papalists and it is also designed to significantly enhance the knowledge and practical skills of all persons involved in the resolution of labour disputes.
According to Reginald Salmons, chairperson of the Human Resource and Remuneration Committee of SWD Cricket, this qualification is a significant accomplishment and a major milestone in Kennedy's career.
“The study opportunity was made possible as part of a grant from the National Lotteries Commission," said Salmons.
Salmons emphasised the importance of career planning that ensures that each staff member’s potential is developed optimally for employees in the company.
Micheal Eksteen, president of SWDC, congratulated Kennedy. “The fact that he had shown the commitment and discipline to study after hours to further his career is commendable and we will in the process establish a highly motivated workforce,” he said.
