GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - The South African Weather Service (Saws) has released its latest weather forecast for Monday, 26 August. 

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Beaufort West, Prins Albert, Oudtshoorn and George areas today and tomorrow.

An intense cold front is expected to affect the Western and Northern Cape on Tuesday and Wednesday.

A severe weather warning for interior winds resulting in disruption of travel services and damage to settlements is expected over the Garden Route, eastern Overberg, eastern parts of the Cape Winelands and southern Central Karoo (Western Cape) from late Tuesday morning until the evening (27 August).

According to a severe weather warning by the Garden Route District Municipality, south-westerly swells with wave heights of four to eight meters are expected on Tuesday morning between Lambert’s Bay and Plettenberg Bay, spreading to Alexander Bay by the evening through until Thursday morning.
