Update

OUDTSHOORN NEWS -  Cooler weather conditions are forecast for Oudtshoorn today, Tuesday 23 December and are expected to assist firefighting efforts adjacent to the Military Base, Lategansvlei to Matjiesrivier. 

The mountain fire has diminished significantly overnight, particularly along the northern fire line above the Matjiesrivier and Voorbedacht farms.

This area will continue to be closely monitored, with specific focus on the Schoemanspoort area. 

The south-eastern fire line, east of Lategansvlei, remains active and will be addressed on foot this morning by Garden Route District Municipality 

Fire and Rescue Services, in collaboration with the Eden Working on Fire teams.
