GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - An intense cold front is expected to affect the Western and Northern Cape coastline from Tuesday into Thursday morning 27 to 29 August.
According to a severe weather warning by the Garden Route District Municipality, south-westerly swells with wave heights of 4 to 8 meters are expected between Lambert’s Bay and Plettenberg Bay on Tuesday, spreading to Alexander Bay by the evening and until Thursday morning.
Strong gale force north-westerly to westerly winds are expected. The strong winds and high waves could lead to very rough and choppy sea conditions.
These conditions should be taken into account by all coastal users, including rock anglers, who could be at risk of being swept off low lying rocks.
Those navigating small vessels and personal water crafts such as kayaks should take heed. Damage to coastal infrastructure could also occur.
