OUDTSHOORN NEWS - The annual Calitzdorp Expressed Festival once again brought creativity and vibrancy to the heart of the Little Karoo, attracting visitors from across the region from 12 to 14 June.
Over the three-day festival, visitors immersed themselves in the unique character of Calitzdorp and its surrounding valley by exploring galleries, wineries and breweries, meeting local artists and makers, attending workshops and talks, and enjoying the area's renowned food, wine and hospitality.
The diverse programme featured intimate exhibitions, studio visits, wine tastings, performances, historic walks and creative workshops, offering attendees an opportunity to engage with the people, places and stories that define the region.
"The festival is a celebration of creativity, community and place," Gill Rayner said.
"It creates opportunities for visitors and locals to connect, supports artists and businesses, and shines a light on the remarkable talent and stories found in this corner of the Karoo."
The success of this year's event once again highlighted the growing appeal of authentic, community-driven experiences and reinforced Calitzdorp's reputation as one of the Western Cape's hidden cultural gems.
Organisers thanked participants, volunteers, sponsors, residents and visitors for their support and contribution to the weekend's activities.
The festival continues to provide an important platform for local artists, producers and businesses while encouraging visitors to spend more time in the area and engage with the community.
