MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The second day of the kykNET Outdoor Expo Southern Cape saw hundreds of people flooding through the gates of the Hartenbos ATKV Amphitheatre today, 4 October.
The last day of the expo is tomorrow, 5 October.
Although aimed at camping and 4x4 enthusiasts, with scores or displays of all the latest camping, caravan and camping products, the event also many exhibitors selling food, treats, clothes, shoes, bags, jewellery, and much more.
After a long day of looking around at all the displays and stalls, and maybe making a few purchases, there is a beer tent and wine garden. A children's corner with a bouncy castle and fun games is also present at the event.
Mossel Bay Advertiser spoke to several exhibitors and visitors to the expo. Expo-goers came from across the Garden Route, with some even visiting from Klerksdorp in the North West.
Jennifer Claassen told the Advertiser she had come from Oudtshoorn for the day with her family and had a lot of fun, while Evette and Robbie from Wilderness said it was their second year attending and had a wonderful time.
"It gets better every year," said Joubert.
Marius Opperman, of Trio Events, the organiser of the expo said the event is going "very well".
"Yesterday (Friday) exceeded expectations, and at face value, it looks like attendance is better than last year," he said.
Last year the expo attracted 15 000 visitors.
